Monroe Ave. in 1953, renaming it Aster Park Floral. The name was a clever nod to the aster flower and the nearby Astor Park neighborhood.“A lot of people never caught it,” De Keyser said.De Keyser has marked down his current inventory, but the store might not close until December. He said the decision to close the store came after he sold the building to Aster Park’s neighbor, Newcomer Funeral Home. The brick-and-mortar store is closing, but De Keyser will still be available to arrange weddings, funerals and other events. You can also find some of his retail wares in Door County and at downtown Green Bay's Saturday Farmers Market, as well.Buy PhotoAster Park Floral has discounted its inventory ahead of the store's closing later this year. (Photo: Jeff Bollier/USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin)“No small business is easy, but we had 12 wonderful years here,” De Keyser said. “I want to thank all our great customers over the years. Fiamma family member questions security as funerals for victims begin - Orlando Sentinel

Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said former employee John Neumann, 45, entered an unlocked door at the Forsyth Road business around 8 a.m. Monday armed with a handgun.Davis said investigators told him that Neumann killed manager Robert Snyder first because he sat next to the door. Then Neumann turned his gun on Lawson, shooting him twice in the head and six more times in the body, according to Davis. He wonders why the business didn’t have tighter security, especially after Neumann was fired in April and there was rumor that he may retaliate.“I’m not trying to pass blame,” said Davis. “There wasn’t any heightened security. They talked about the threat all through the company.”Neumann then went to a break room and shot the three other victims before turning the gun on himself, Davis said.Demings said family members have made similar statements to investigators about retaliation, but they have not been able to confirm any of it.“He knew the strengths and weaknesses of the security in that building and used it to his advantage,” he said. “It wasn’t a sophisticated security system. Whether or not that was something that was needed is debatable.”Efforts to reach officials at Fiamma at its Italian headquarters Friday were unsuccessful.A key question that hasn’t been answered is the timing of the shooting, especially considering it had been nearly two months since he was fired.Demings said deputies were hoping to find some answers in some electronic devices found at Neumann’s home in Maitland.Davis said he would have liked to go through the scene for some closure, but he was not allowed. He said the family is doing about as well as they can.“I just have so many mixed emotions,” he said. “Am I mad? Am I hurt? Crushed? Hell yeah, I’m all those things.”Orange deputies have not yet released incident reports that would contain witness statements or 911 calls. In the meantime, the families are moving forward with services for their loved ones, three of which will be Saturday.A public viewing for Lawson, 47, will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 33...
